|Recommended: YesOverall a great community — I have lived in this complex for almost 3 years now and have lived in two different units during this time. In comparison to other apartments I have lived in these are some of the best. One of the first things I noticed was how welly insulated the apartments were. The heating and cooling costs are inexpensive I have never had a hard time getting ahold of maintenance staff, who are also on top of getting issues addressed. It is also awesome that the staff likes bringing the community together through contests such as painting rocks or decorating for the holidays It is nice having a small gym to go and a pool to hangout around in the summer. You also can't beat having a pond to walk around
The downsides, however, would be how expensive living here can be. For me it can be a win-lose situation because I need a garage and there are no other places in a good area that offer garage rentals so I can not complain. I know that I mentioned that the cost of electricity is inexpensive, but the windows in the living room are old. So, it can get really cold in the living room near the windows due to the draft and poor insulation. Again, it only makes the area by the windows cold and the rest of the apartment stays nice and warm in the winter.
Lastly, I not too sure on the noise quality. I'm on the 2nd floor of a 3 story unit . I sometimes hear music playing from the bathroom but it is never too loud to be an issue. I gave the rating 3 stars because I believe I live below a unit with a child. I can't tell if someone dropped a bowling ball or if someone jumped off the couch. Needless to say, if someone is running around and stomping you will hear it. Sometimes it feels like it shakes the whole unit. This was not an issue in the other unit I had stayed in so it might depend on the neighbors
Overall, I like the area and location. I don't imagine myself moving out of the complex for a while because I don't think any other place would have all the amenities as here

|Recommended: YesGood Deal — Nice apartments with a good amenities. All around a very mid-level place. I will say my biggest complaint is the layout of the light switches often frustrates me. Everything else is totally normal pun intended

the office staff is professional and the grounds are kept clean, the structure of the buildings could use some upgrades and painting but overall I enjoy my living area
|Recommended: YesDo Not Plan on Moving Any Time Soon — Only thing I would tell any one that works off shifts finding parking near your unit may be hard depending at what time you get home and what day of the week it is. I wish they would have assigned spaces for one car per unit by your unit, I think this would resolve some of these problems.
|Recommended: YesBetter than most, if you can tolerate goose poop — We like living here for the most part The parking is easy, we love our apartment layout and it's not too expensive. We've had a few issues however. The biggest is how loud our neighbors are. There've been several instances of us being woken up because of how loud they are, sometimes early in the morning like 1 or 2am . While this isn't the fault of the property managers, it does mean that there isn't a lot of sound proofing between levels. Also, the goose poop is ATROCIOUS. It's seriously disgusting how much goose poop there is seemingly year round. I used to like walking along the gorgeous ponds but the amount of geese feces make it gross and impossible to walk. Additionally we've had to make several repairs in the 18 months we've been here. Our sink has been repaired four times, our heat has gone out, and there is still a hole in the ceiling since this summer among other, smaller things .
Otherwise we like it here. The front office workers have always been pleasant to me and worked hard to solve problems. The maintenance workers are mostly fast and willing to go above and beyond, if you're nice which you always should be . We just got new windows this summer, which is exciting. We appreciate how pet friendly it is here, a well as the community events. I love the contests and gatherings we do as a community We are looking forward to staying here a little longer. except for the geese. I hate them so much.
|Recommended: YesSome of the Nicest in the Area — These apartments are some of the nicest in the Bloomington-Normal area. I would recommend that you add them to your list of apartments to tour.

|Recommended: YesNice and affordable — Iroonwood Gardens Apartments is my first home away from home and I couldnt have picked a better place to live. Any maintenance problems I've had are dealt with as soon as possible and the office does not hestitate with any questions or concerns you have.
